The circumference of the base of a cylindrical glass is 6π cm. The height of the glass is equal to the diameter of its base. Find the quantity of liquid it can hold.

Validate

Solution:

(1) Let r be the radius of the glass.
The circumference of the base of acylindrical glass = 6π cm
2πr = 6π
r = 3 cm
Also, the height of glass = 2r = 6 cm
∴ Quantity of liquid it can hold =Volume of glass = πr2h

= 22/7× 3 ×3 × 6 = 169.71 cm^3
