The radius of a circular garden is 7 m more than the length of a rectangle whose perimeter is 364 m and breadth is 84 m. What will be the cost of fencing the garden if the cost of fencing is ₹ 8/m?

Solution:

(4) Let L be the length of therectangle. Then,
2(L + 84) = 364
⇒L = 98m
Radius of garden = 98 + 7= 105m
Circumference of garden

= 2 ×22/7×105 = 660m

Cost of fencing the garden = 660 ×8 =₹ 5280
