$If x +1/x =√ 3 ,$ then what is the value of $x^ 3 +3 1/x ^3+ 1 +5 ?$

Solution:

x+1/X = √3

By cubing both sides;

X^3+ 1/X^3 +3 × 1 /X [x+1/X] = 3 √3

x ^3+ 1/X^3 + 3 √3 = 3√ 3

x^3 + 1 /X^3= 0

∴

x^3 + 1/X^3 + 5 = 5
