Solution:

(1) In this system, 234 means

(2^2)(3^2)(4^2) = (4)(9)(16) = 4916

562 means

(5^2)(6^2)(2^2) =(25)(36)(4) = 25364

Therefore, 526 is followed by

(5^2)(2^2)(6^2) = (25)(4)(36) = 25436
