1 man can complete a work in 60 days. If a man is 25% more efficient than a woman and a woman is 20% more efficient than a boy, then how many days would be required by 6 men, 5 women and 3 boys working together to complete a work 40% more than the original work?

Solution:

(3) Let the original work = 60 units
New work = 60 + 40% of 60 = 84units
One day work of 1 man = 1 units
One day work of 1 woman =1/ 1.25 5=4/5= units
One day work of 1 boy

=4 /5/1.2 =2/3

units
One day work of 6 men, 5 womanand 3 boy = 6+4+2=12 units
∴ Number of days required tofinish 84 units of work

=84 /12=7

days
