For 0° ≤ θ ≤ 90°, if 2sinθ + 2cosecθ = 4, then find out the value of sin5θ + cos5θ.

Solution:

(1) 2sinθ + 2cosecθ = 4
sinθ + cosecθ = 2
⇒sinθ+ 1/{ sinθ} = 2
⇒sinθ=1
⇒ θ= 90°

∴ sin^5θ + cos^5θ = (sin 90°)5 +(cos 90°)5 = 1 + 0 = 1
