Rishi and Yogesh can complete a work in 26 days and 39 days, respectively. Rishi started the work. After some days, Yogesh joined him and the work is completed in 20 days. After how many days did Yogesh join Rishi?

(3) Let the total work = LCM of 26and 39 = 78 units
One day work of Rishi

=78/26= 3

units
One day work of Yogesh

=78/39= 2

units
One day work of Rishi and Yogesh =3 + 2 = 5 units
Let Rishi work alone for D days,then
3D + 5(20 – D) = 78
⇒ 2D = 100 – 78
⇒D = 11
