If the length of a side of a square is equal to that of the diameter of a circle, then the ratio of the area of the square to that of the circle is

(\Take \π = 7 /22)

Solution:

(1) Let length of a side of square be 2a units. Radius of the circle will be a unit.
So, the ratio of area of the square to that of the circle

= {( {side})^{2}}/{\π r^{2}}

⇒{(2 a)^{2}}/{ {22}/{7} × a^{2}}= {4 × 7}/{22}= {14}/{11}
