Out of a certain sum,

th at 6% and the rest at 8%. If the simple interest for 2 years from all these investments amounts to ₹600, find the original sum.

Solution:

Rest part

=1-(1/3+1/6)=1/2

Rate % per annum on total sum

=(1/3×3)+(1/6×6)+(1/2×8)

=6%

∴

P={600×100}/{6×2}=\₹5,000
