Solution:

Let number be x, then its reciprocal be

1/x.

According to question,

x^2+1/x^2=3(x^2-1/x^2)

∴

x^2+1/x^2=3x^2-3/x^2

⇒

2x^2=4/x^2

⇒

x^4 =2

⇒

x= (2)^{1\/4}
