It 10 men or 20 women or 40 children can do a piece of work in 7 months, then 5 men, 5 women and 5 children together can do half of the work in :

Solution:

10 men = 20 women
1 man = 2 women = 5 children
1 woman = 2 children
∴ 5 men + 5 women + 5 children = 20+ 10 + 5 = 35 children

∴\M_1\D_1=\M_2\D_2

⇒40×7=35×\D_2

⇒\D_2={40×7}/35

= 8 months
Required time = 4 months.
