What is his profit percentage?

Solution:

Let Cost price of 1 watch = Rs. x
Let Selling price of 1 watch = Rs. y
Profit of 17 watches = Rs.

17 (y - x)

According to ques, ⇒

17(y − x) = 7y

⇒

17y − 17x =7y

⇒

17x = 17y − 7y = 10y

⇒

x/y=10/17

∴ Profit % =

x/y×100

=10/17×100=58.82%
