Shaan got a total of Rs. 912 in the denomination of equal numbers of Rs. 1, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 coins. How many coins do Shaan posses?

Solution:

Let there are

type of each coin.
Total amount =

(x × 1) + (x × 5) + (x × 10) = 912

⇒

x + 5x + 10x = 912

⇒

x = 912/16 =57

∴ Total number of coins of each denomination = 57 × 3 = 171
