The height of the equilateral triangle is 9 cm. What is the radius (in cm) of the circle circumscribing the three vertices?

Solution:

ABC is an equilateral triangle with height = median = 9 cm
Now, O is the circumcentre of the triangle and it divides the median in the ratio 2:1

AO =2/ (2+1) ×9

⇒

AO = 2/3 ×3

⇒

AO =2×3=6
