For the wholesaler,
Let the cost price $=\mathit{R}\mathit{s}.100\mathit{x}$
With profit of 20%, Selling price =$\frac{120}{100}\times 100\mathit{x}=\mathit{R}\mathit{s}.120\mathit{x}$
For the retailer,
Cost price = $\mathit{R}\mathit{s}.120\mathit{x}$
With a loss of 10%, Selling price $\frac{90}{100}\times 120\mathit{x}=\mathit{R}\mathit{s}.108\mathit{x}$
For the customer,
Cost price =$108\mathit{x}=874.8$
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}=\frac{874.8}{108}=\frac{97.2}{12}=8.1$
∴ Cost prise for retailer 100 × 8.1 = Rs 810
