Solution:

Let the distance be

x {km}

Upstream speed

=14-2=12 {km} \/ {h}

According to the question,

⇒ \;\; x=36 {km}

Downstream speed

=14+2

=16 {km} \/ {h}

Now, time taken to cover thisdistance, in downstream

\;\; =\;{36}/{16}=2.25 {h}
