Given : -4 $\mathrm{\$}$1 = 4, 7 $\mathrm{\$}$ -7 = 49 and 3 $\mathrm{\$}$ 1 = -3
If we replace '$\mathrm{\$}$' with '×' and multiply the product with '-1', then we will get the desired result.
Eg :- (−4 × 1) × (−1) = 4
and (7 × −7) × (−1) = 49
and (3 × 1) × (−1) = −3
Similarly, (−8 × −5) × (−1) = −40
