Solution:

Let the height of the cylinder be

h {cm}

∴

According to the question,

π r^{2} h=\;{2}/{3} π R^{3}

π ×(9)^{2} × h=\;{2}/{3} × π ×(6.3)^{3}

∴ \;\; h=\;{2}/{3} × \;{6.3 × 6.3 × 6.3}/{81}

=2.058 {cm}

∴ \;\; h ≈ 2.1 {cm}
