Rs. 7750 is divided among X, Y and Z such that 3 times of X’s share is equal to 5 times of Y’s share which is equal to 2 times of Z’s share. What is the share (in Rs) of Z?

Solution:

Let share of X, Y and Z be Rs. x , y and z respectively.
Then,

3x = 5y = 2z = k

⇒

x=k/3,y=k/5 \ \and z=k/2

Sum =

x + y + z = 7750

⇒

k/3 + k/ 5 + k/ 2 = 7750

⇒

k × ({10+6+15}/ 30 ) =7750

⇒

k = 7750 × 30/31 =7500

∴ Share of

Z=k/2= 7500/2

= Rs. 3750
