The distance between places U and V is 1008 km. An express train leaves place U at 9:00 a.m. and runs at a speed of 126 km/hr. The train stops on the way for 20 minutes. At what time (in p.m.) the train will reach at the place V?

Solution:

Distance to be covered = 1008 km and speed of train = 126 km/hr
Using, time = distance/speed
⇒ Time taken =

1008/126=8

hours
∴ Train will reach at place V = 9:00 am + 8 hours + 20 minutes = 5 : 20 pm
