The Minimum Support Price (MSP) of agricultural crops in India is fixed by the government on the recommendation of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP). The Minimum Support Price (MSP) of agricultural crops is declared by government to ensure protection of farmers from the price volatility of the market. As of now, 23 crops are being supported by the centre by fixing of MSP.
