Ethanoic acid is a weak electrolyte. A weak electrolyte is an electrolyte that does not completely dissociate in aqueous solution. ${\mathit{H}\mathit{C}}_2{\mathit{H}}_3{\mathit{O}}_2$ (acetic acid), ${\mathit{H}}_2{\mathit{C}\mathit{O}}_3$ (carbonic acid), ${\mathit{N}\mathit{H}}_3$ (ammonia) and ${\mathit{H}}_3{\mathit{P}\mathit{O}}_4$ (phosphoric acid) are all examples of weak electrolyte. Weak acids and weak bases are weak electrolytes.
