If the average of the 3-digit numbers 335,2 \times 5, x 35,63 x and 406 is 411 , then what will be the average of x-1, x-3, x+3 and x+5 ?

If the average of the 3-digit numbers

335,2 × 5, x 35,63 x

and 406 is 411 , then what will be the average of

x-1, x-3, x+3

and

x+5

Solution:

Given,

\;{335+2 x 5+x 35+63 x+406}/{5}=411

∴ 335+2 x 5+x 35+63 x+406=2055

⇒ 335+205+10 x+100 x+35

+630+x+406=2055

⇒ 111 x=2055-1611=444

⇒ \;\; x=\;{444}/{111}=4

∴

Required average

=\;{(x-1)+(x-3)+(x+3)+(x+5)}/{4}

=\;{(4-1)+(4-3)+(4+3)+(4+5)}/{4}

=\;{3+1+7+9}/{4}=\;{20}/{4}=5
