Solution:

Two successive discounts are

15 \%

and

20 \%

.
∴

r_{1}=15 \%

and

r_{2}=20 \%

∴ Equivalent discount

=r_{1}+r_{2}-{r_{1} ×r_{2}}/{100}

=15+20-{15 ×20}/{100}

=35-3=32 \%
