Let initial average of the 10 teachers = years and age of retired teacher = years
⇒ Sum of ages of 10 teachers =

According to ques,
⇒

{10x−y+25}/10=(x-3)

⇒

10x − y + 25 = 10x − 30

⇒

y = 25 + 30 = 55

∴ Age of the retired teacher = 55 years
