If mid-points of sides of a triangle joined, then the triangle is divided into four equal parts,
Let area of each triangle,
$\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{XLM}=\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{YLP}=\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{PMZ}=\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{LMP}$
$=6$ units.
Median divides the triangle into two equal parts,
∴ Area of each triangle,
$\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{LGM}=\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{MGP}=\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{PLG}$
$=2$ units.
∴ Area of $\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{GLM}:$ Area of
$\mathrm{\Delta }\mathrm{XYZ}=2:24=1:12$
