The average of the runs of a cricket player in 20 matches is 35 . If the average of the first 12 matches is 45 , find the average of the last 8 matches.

Solution:

Total runs scored in 20 matches

=20 \×35=700

Total runs scored in first 12 matches

=12 \×45=540

Total runs scored in last 8 matches

=700-540=160

∴ Required average

={160}/{8}=20
