Magnetic induction is measured in the unit called Gauss. The unit was inherited from the previous CGS-EMU system by the Gaussian system of units. It is named after the German mathematician and scientist. Carl Friedrich Gauss, who regarded as one of the greatest mathematicians of all time for his contributions to Number theory, Geometry, Probability theory, etc. The unit of Gauss is one maxwell per square centimetre.
