Rani Rampal is the first female hockey player to have won the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award (now Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna Award) in 2020. She has also received Padma Sri Award in 2020. She is currently the captain of Indian women hockey team and plays forward on her team. As of now she has played 2012 International hockey match and scored 134 goals.
