, then what will be the value of (x + y)?

Solution:

Given :

x^2+y^2=113

and xy = 56
Using

(x + y)^2 = x^2 + y^2 + 2xy

⇒

(x+ y)^2 = 113 + (2 × 56)

⇒

(x + y)^2 = 113 + 112 = 225

⇒

(x + y) = √225 = 15
