The sum of the ages of Rohit and Ankit is 78. Rohit's age is twice the age of Ankit. What is the age (in years) of Rohit?

Solution:

Let Ankit's age = x years
⇒ Rohit's age = 2x years
According to ques, ⇒ x + 2x = 3x = 78
⇒

x = 78 /3= 26

∴ Rohit's age = 2 × 26 = 52 years
