A and B can do a piece of work in 30 and 36 days respectively.They began the work together but A left after some days and B finished the remaining work in 25 days. After how many days did A leave?

Solution:

(3) Let A leave the work after x days.
According to the question,

{x}/{30}+ {x+25}/{36}=1

⇒{6 x+5 x+125}/{180}=1

⇒ 11 x+125=180

⇒ 11 x=180-125

⇒ 11 x=55

⇒x=55/11=5\days
