Solution:

(1) Let the required distance be x km.
Difference of time = 7 + 5 = 12 minutes =

According to the question,

{x}/{5}- {x}/{6}= {1}/{5}

⇒{6 x-5 x}/{30}= {1}/{5}

⇒{x}/{30}= {1}/{5}

⇒x= {30}/{5}=6 {km}
