If the height of a cylinder is 4 times its circumference, the volume of the cylinder in terms of its circumference c, is

Solution:

(3) If the radius of base of cylinder be r units, then,
Height = 4 × 2πr = 8πr units
∴ 2πr = c

∴ r= { {c}}/{2 \π}

and

h=4 c

∴ Volume of cylinder

= \πr^2h

= {\π c^{2}}/{4 \π^{2}} ×4 c

= {c^{3}}/{\π}
