(3) Before battle,
Officers ⇒ 3xSoldiers ⇒ 31x
According to the question,
After battle,

{3 x-6}/{31 x-22}= {1}/{13}

⇒ 39 x-78=31 x-22

⇒ 39 x-31 x=78-22

⇒ 8 x=56

⇒ x=\ {56}/{8}=7

∴ Required number of officers

= 3 × 7 = 21
