Solution:

(1) Let time taken by son be x hours.
∴ Father’s and son’s 1 day’s work

= {1}/{30}+ {1}/{x}

∴{1}/{30}+ {1}/{x}= {1}/{20}

⇒{1}/{x}= {1}/{20}- {1}/{30}

= {3-2}/{60}= {1}/{60}

∴ x=60
