Let the number = x
According to the question,

x-7/x=9.3

⇒

x ^2 - 7 = 9.3x

⇒

10x ^- 7 = 9.3x

⇒

10x^2-93 x - 70 = 0

⇒

10x^2 -100 x + 7 x - 7 0 = 0

⇒

10x(x -10 ) + 7 (x -1 0 ) = 0

⇒

(x -1 0 ) (10x + 7) = 0

∴

x = 10
