A is thrice as efficient as B. Working together they complete the work in 3 days. If B takes 8 days more than A. What are the number of days taken by A to finish the whole work alone?

Solution:

∴ Difference in days = 2x = 8
x = 4 and 3x = 12
.’. No. of days taken by A, working alone = 4 days
