In the given figure, AP = 3 cm, AR = 6 cm and RS = 9 cm, then what is the value (in cm) of PQ ?

Solution:

We know that,

AP × A Q = A R × AS

⇒

3 ×AQ = 6 ×(6 + 9)

⇒

AQ = 2 ×1 5 =30

⇒

P Q = A Q -A P = 3 0 -3

∴ PQ = 27 cm
