The price of 10 chairs is equal to that of 4 tables. The price of 15 chairs and 2 tables together is Rs 4000. The total price of 12 chairs and 3 tables is :

Solution:

10C=4T

C/T={2x}/{5x}

Also,

15 × 2x + 2 × 5x = 4000

⇒ 40x = 4000

⇒x = 100

Total price of 12 chairs and 3 tables

= 12 × 2x + 3× 5x = 3900
