A contractor undertook to do a work in 60 days. He employed 50 workers to carry out the job, but after 40 days he found that only half work had been done. Now, how many more workers should he employ to finish the work in time?

Solution:

{\M_1×\T_1}/{\W_1}={\M_2×\T_2}/\W_2

{50×40}/{1/2}={x×20}/{1/2}

x=100

He should employ 50 more workers.
