Solution:

\cosec θ = 17 /8

⇒

\sinθ=1/{\cosecθ}=8/17

∴ \cotθ={\cosθ}/{\sinθ}

=√{1-\sin^2θ}/{\sinθ}=√{1+(8/17)^2}/{8/17}

√{{289-64}/{289}}/{8/17}=√{225/289}/{8/17}

=15/17×17/8=15/8
