Solution:

According to the question,

(4,2)
=

({2×7+5×2}/{2+5},{2×y+6×5}/{2+5})

On comparing both sides,

2={2y+30}/7

⇒

14 = 2 y +30

⇒

2 y = - 1 6

y = -8
