is :

Solution:

a_2+b_2+c_2- ab-bc-ca

=1/2[(a-b)^2+(b-c)^2+(c-a)^2]

=1/2[(17-18)^2+(18-19)^2

+(19-17)^2]

=1/2[1+1+4]=3
