The marked price of a sofa set is ₹ 4800 which is sold at ₹ 3672 at two successive discounts. If the first discount is 10%, then what will be the second discount (in %)?

Solution:

Let the second discount is x%.
According to the question,

4800 ×90/100 ×{100-x}/100= 3672

100-x={408 ×10}/48

⇒

100-x=85

∴ x = 15%
