If length of each side of a rhombus PQRS is 8 cm and ∠PQR =120°, then what is the length (in cm) of QS?

Solution:

According to the question,

∠PQR = 120°

∠\PQS=∠\PQR/2=120°/2=60°

In ΔPQO, cos 60°

=\OQ/\PQ

⇒

1/2=\OQ/8

∴ OQ = 4 cm
and QS = 2 × 4 = 8 cm
