Let Manish’s present age = x years
Parvez’s present age $=\mathit{x}+\frac{\mathit{x}}{4}=\frac{5\mathit{x}}{4}$ years
According to the question,
$\frac{5\mathit{x}}{4}-6=\mathit{x}$
⇒ $\frac{5\mathit{x}}{4}-\mathit{x}=6$
⇒ $\frac{5\mathit{x}-4\mathit{x}}{4}=6$
∴ $\mathit{x}=24$
Let after t years, Parvez’s age will become double of Manish’s present age.
$\frac{5}{4}\times 24+\mathit{t}=2\times 24$
⇒ $30+\mathit{t}=48$
∴ $\mathit{t}=18$ years
