The Prime Minister is the Chairman of Planning Commission and National Integration Council of India.
Planning Commission was set-up in 1950 with Jawaharlal Nehru as its first chairman to formulate India's five years plans. It has been replaced by a new institution named NITI Aayog in 2014. National Integration Council of India was formed in 1961 to look for ways to address the problems of communalism, casteism and regionalism.
