p.a. simple interest. If the difference between the interests earned from the two parts is ₹ 4680 , then what was the total sum lent (in ₹)?

Solution:

Let Principle

P=₹ 4 x

and

₹ 5 x

Then,

{SI}=\;{P × R × T}/{100}

According to the question,

⇒ \;{5 x × 8 × 5}/{100}-\;{4 x × 8 × 4}/{100}=4680

⇒ \;\; \;{50 x-32 x}/{25}=4680

⇒ \;\; \;{32 x}/{25}=4680

⇒ \;\; x=4680 × \;{25}/{18}

⇒ \;\; x=260 × 25

∴ \;\text " Total Principal "\;=4 x+5 x

=9 x=9 × 6500=₹ 58500
