What is the difference between the average of the number of boys in the Commerce stream for the

5 {yr}

and the average of the number of girls in the Arts stream for the

5 {yr}

Solution:

Total number of boys in commerce

=35+32+36+28+39=170

Average of

5 y r=\;{170}/{5}=34

Total number of girls in Art stream

=36+43+42+46+43=210

Average of

5 {yr}=\;{210}/{5}=42

∴

Required difference

=42-34=8
